Why Buy UPVC Window Trims

Window trims are an important part of installing a new window, covering the seam between the window and the wall giving your windows a professional finish without the cost of plastering around the frames.

They can cover up gaps left when new windows have been installed, or any cracked plasterwork from the install, stopping draughts and giving a neat finish. Window trim acts as an important barrier to help keep the cold outside air out and the warm inside air in.

What are the benefits of UPVC window trims?

  • Prevent draughts
  • Keeps windows watertight
  • Adds a neat appearance to the inside and outside of your home
  • Low-maintenance
  • Durable
  • Suits PVC and aluminium frames
  • Available in any colour you want

Many windows and doors are now made of UPVC, using UPVC trims around these is an easy and cost-effective way to neaten your window look. You can also use them around aluminium frames now the finish can be replicated on UPVC.

They are very easy to cut with snips, see the demonstration here: https://www.blakeleyp.com/window-trims so no heat, sparks, peeling paint or touching up as you get with aluminium profiles.

Whilst wooden trims can suffer from rot, mould and discolouration, UPVC trims last longer and more resistant to the elements. They do not crack easily and are resistant to moisture, helping maintain the cold bridge.

Of course, they do actually have a variety of uses in projects of all kinds. You can use UPVC trims around door frames as door trims, to neaten showers and bathrooms and around laminate flooring to bridge the gap between the skirting board and floor. Pretty much anywhere you need to neaten the edge around something you can use these trims.

At Blakeley Profiles we can supply these trims in any standard RAL/BS colour, we are also able to colour match the trim to your existing windows and doors. We offer a choice of finishes from smooth, woodgrain, or metallic.
