How different is purchasing, and fitting sprayed PVC gutter/fascia to standard?

Fitting sprayed gutters and fascia boards can differ from standard installations in several ways. Here are some key differences:

Material Purchasing

• Sprayed Gutters/Fascia: These are bespoke goods and non-returnable. There is a lead time of around 14 working days from point of order. To save having to wait for more items, or have too much left over after your purchase, ideally get your installer to create the list of materials before placing your order.

• Standard Gutters/Fascia: These are normally on the shelf ready for collection same day or delivery in 1-5 working days

Material Preparation:

• Sprayed Gutters/Fascia: They are spray painted, which requires careful handling to avoid scratches and ensure the finish remains intact

• Standard Gutters/Fascia: These materials are more straightforward to handle and install without special considerations for the finish

Installation Process:

• Sprayed Gutters/Fascia: When installing, make sure you are using the correct tools and techniques to avoid damaging the finish. Cut edges and nail heads may require finishing with touch up paint.

• Standard Gutters/Fascia: The installation process is generally simpler, with fewer steps required to protect the material. Standard PVC gutters can be cut and drilled without additional treatment

Jointing and Sealing:

• Sprayed Gutters/Fascia: Special care is needed to ensure that joints and seals are properly aligned and treated to prevent leaks. We recommend silicone lubricant on gutter seals to help expansion and contraction in extremes of weather.

• Standard Gutters/Fascia: Standard sealants and jointing methods are typically sufficient, making the process more straightforward

Maintenance:

• Sprayed Gutters/Fascia: Regular maintenance is crucial to ensure the paint remains intact and effective. This might include periodic inspections, cleaning and touch-ups to address any damage to the finish

• Standard Gutters/Fascia: Maintenance is generally less intensive, focusing on clearing debris and ensuring the gutters remain functional
